This new 4-story, Advanced Clinical Training and Research Center will serve to consolidate the University of Nevada Health Sciences System programs through the shared use of classrooms, teaching labs, and simulated patient lab space. CSD worked closely with the State Public Works Board, the Nevada System of Higher Education, UNLV, and UNR School of Medicine, to design a facility that accommodates the different uses and personalities of medical and nursing students. To preserve spaces of the already over-crowded campus, the site allotted is a very narrow footprint that slightly encroaches on the limited green space of the campus. A library and basic science research and ambulatory care spaces are a part of the facility. The team has incorporated sustainable design strategies to create a LEED equivalent building.
