CSD developed plans to transfer the existing Las Vegas Natural History Museum into to the Las Vegas Library Building located on the Cultural Corridor. The project consisted of approximately 110,000 sf of renovations to transform the current library space into state of the art galleries and exhibit spaces. Additionally, it included a 16,000 sf addition allowing for an increase of exhibits spaces including an 8,000 sf traveling exhibit space. Through a comprehensive programming study, CSD quantified and qualified exhibits, encompassing 95,500 square feet of the program; public program spaces including classrooms, a collections and research wing, a theater and a café opened to the public constitute approximately 20,000 sf of planned program.
