The site is a half-acre cul-de-sac parcel located in Tournament Hills. The Owners wanted a contemporary home that provided privacy from the cul-de-sac to the South and the neighbors to the East while opening up and maximizing the views to the golf course and mountains to the Northwest. The front of the house uses a series of layered elements to create a sense of mystery and also serve as a spacial buffer from vehicular traffic, while still providing a strong sense of entry. The flowing and nautical forms of the interior and exterior drew inspiration from the owner’s love of the ocean. A 100-gallon saltwater aquarium became the major focal point for all public areas of the house. The rear of the home opens up much like a fish bowl engulfing the views around it.
