The CSN Dental School was looking for a unique identity that fit in contextually with the rest of the campus. The building forms drew inspiration from early sketches of the mouth with the serpentine roof becoming a distinct identifiable feature. The facility houses the dental hygiene and residency programs, a state-of-the-art forensics dental lab, a dental museum, offices and classrooms. The two-story arrangement helps to maximize square footage to accommodate the program requirements while minimizing the building’s footprint. The building arrangement allows student and public areas to be on the main level and the facility uses to be on the lower level providing a separation of the uses while allowing integration where required.
